Just a few backstage photos for Rad Hourani SS13 RTW. I enjoyed the couture collection just as much but the RTW obviously has more to offer for the everyday wear. His couture collection focused a lot more on the black and white color scheme that is roaring across the trend circles.

Although appealing to me, I am a sucker for powder pinks and metallics too. It was really hard for me to decide what to showcase but I feel these few backstage shots sort of sum up the majority of my likes for this collection. The panel blocking and hard edges tend to tantalize my visual appeal more than any other pattern or form.

But then again I’ve always had a thing for Rad. I think the modernist within me has a crush on him. Heavily.

Title // Flamenco
Medium // Ink And Watercolor
I did this little illustration sometime last year but forgot all about it. I wanted to pay a direct tribute to Prada’s baroque meets jungle madness from Spring 2011. This collection was nothing short of bold and it will always stand out in my mind as one of my favorites for several reasons.
The rich primary color schemes, the luxurious materials, and the sensual silhouttes that were very vivacious and form flattering. Plus those gigantic furs are definitely not a quiet fashion statement. And this girl loves some fur.
I’ll have to post a better picture later once I get back home… but it made me remember how much I miss fashion illustrating. It’s a good thing I’ve been getting back into my groove.
