If you’re curious as to what shade I was wearing in my previous post well here all is revealed. This China Glaze borderline neon shade “Flip Flop Fantasy” is officially my new favorite beach friendly pink. It even glows under blacklights although I doubt I’ll find myself under any of those anytime soon.
I also wanted to share my newest lipstick obsession. These NYX matte lipsticks have been really great shades to give my entire look that little extra pop. You may have noticed me wearing the one on the left in one of my more recent style posts. The one to the right, “Hippie Chic”, has turned into one of my instant favorites. It really does give an outgoing 60s vibe and looks great with almost any outfit whether it’s based on vivid color or more on the monochrome side. Both of them have decent wear and don’t leave as much stain as a gloss or cream based lipstick.
All in all some vibrant outgoing pinks that have become my instant favorites.

I’ve been having so much fun lately making makeup swatches. It’s always good to keep a catalogue of styles, products, and brands that you’re dedicated to and use often. Especially when people ask you for advice or need the know-how of applying their own products it’s always very useful to whip out your little pocket book of swatches to give them the 411.
The lips swatches pictured above are some of my favorite spring shades all containing red or pink tones. I was inspired by a lot of the floral things I’ve been visualizing lately so I decided to stick strictly to colors found during spring within nature.
// From Top To Bottom - Left to Right //
Revlon- 405 Silver City Pink
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics- Matte lip tar in Digitalis
MAC- A47 Pink Nouveau
Covergirl- 400 Temptress Charmeuse
Kat Von D- Matte lipstick in A Go Go
Revlon-720 Fire and Ice
MAC-AB0 Lustre in Lady Bug
Sephora- Rouge Cream Lipstick in Crush 23
Sephora + Pantone- Tangerine Tango Cream
Sidenote: The Kat Von D and Sephora + Pantone shades are a lot more orange in real life. For some reason it’s hard to capture the color via camera. The red shades are also much more true to the primary red than the slightly pinkish one you see here. So although not entirely accurate it’s pretty darn close and you get the general idea.
Another fun thing you can do with your newly made swatches (especially lip swatches) is frame them. They make great decorations for your creative space or vanity area and you can change them depending on season or color scheme. I’ll present a small example later of a neutral based swatch compilation I hung up in my studio.

I am really excited to present you with my new all time favorite lip product by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Last summer I glanced at a beauty pic somewhere on Instagram featuring these OCC Lip Tars as the “thing” to definitely check out. I wish I would have a lot sooner.
If you love highly pigmented matte finish lip color these are the perfect pick for you. I don’t think I’ve come across many products with such an outstanding pigment measure. Not only that but these tiny tubes are the perfect size in regards to how much you actually use. You literally need less than a drop to cover your entire lips! I usually just squeeze a microscopic amount out and swipe my lip brush across the top and my entire lip scenario is over in seconds flat.
I chose 2 shades of a more neutral palette to start with because I wasn’t sure what to expect. The Interlace shade is a great flat nude that matches my skin tone perfectly. The Digitalis shade is very true to it’s color and creates a really lovely lavender pink. Something I have been looking for recently.
I can’t say enough good things about these products. With that said give yourself something special and pick up an outgoing lip tar out of the many color options for yours at OCC.
